Reckless (2026) review - a disappointing Guy Ritchie knockoff starring Scott Adkins
Reckless (2026) stars Scott Adkins as Devon, a small-time criminal who is double-crossed after a heist and left to pick up the pieces after serving time in prison. When he sets out to reclaim what’s his, things spiral quickly out of control, leaving him on the run from both the police and a dangerous crime boss played by Vinnie Jones.
On paper, Reckless sounds like a perfect setup for a high-energy British crime thriller, drawing clear inspiration from early 2000s films like Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. But while those films balance style, humor, and chaos, Reckless struggles to find its footing.
In this review, I break down where the film falls short, from its convoluted story and flat comedy to its biggest disappointment: the lack of compelling fight scenes from Scott Adkins, one of modern action cinema’s most reliable performers. While there are flashes of potential, including an intriguing premise and a few underdeveloped character threads, the film ultimately fails to deliver on what fans of the genre are looking for.
If you’re a fan of Scott Adkins or British crime films, is Reckless worth your time, or is it better left skipped?
